Quick Start Tennis Classes for Preschool & Kinder Garden
Ages 4 &5, 6 & 7
QuickStart Tot Tennis is for getting your kids in tennis early. The games played during classes develop hand eye, hand feet, racquet, ball control and aim. Most Tots and young kids are still learning how to use their bodies and the games help develop those skills that will come into play for tennis.
Tot classes aren't very long either. They run for half an hour. Around the age of 8 the child will be allowed to stay for an hour. By keeping ages & physical abilities of the kids the same in any given class make it more enjoyable for everyone on court.
Quick Start tennis classes for 1st / 2nd & 3rd Graders
Ages 7 or 8 & 9, 9 & 10
CoachV Tennis uses the Quickstart format to help younger tennis players learn the skills necessary for full court play. The skills involved in learning tennis are balance, hand eye coordination, hand feet coordination, kinetic energy, bio-mechanics, racquet head speed, racquet head control, agility, leverage, tracking the ball, contact zones, dexterity, feel and confidence. Players also begin match play at this level and have classes for 1 hour.
Matches for kids ten and under.
QuickStart tennis is the new tournament format for kids 10 years old and under. A 10 year old with full court abilities is allowed to play regular matches and tournaments by moving up in ages. Next USTA age level is 12 and under.
Ages 8 & Under (8U) match format will be no-add 4 game pro sets. There are no doubles faults in 8U league play. If the server is unsuccessful after two serves, the monitor feeds the ball into the receiver to start play.
10U match format will be no-ad 6 game pro sets.
When Quick Start Kids Grow & Advance
Normal or full size equipment it should be introduced around the Age of 10 & 11. In Consideration of Equipment sizes: age, height, weight, coordination, strength and ability are other aspects that will come into play when deciding on larger and regular size equipment. CoachV tennis will communicate and discuss with the parents on when equipment changes will be necessary. CoachV tennis will help educate parents & players for the success.
